GOMO Program joined the 23rd Annual Argo Steering Team meeting in Monaco

Members of the GOMO Program joined the 23rd Annual Argo Steering Team meeting, held in Monaco from March 21-25, 2022. This was the first in-person meeting in over 2 years and was a great success. The International Hydrographic Organization, Argo and the Ocean Observing Co-Design Project hosted the event as part of Monaco Ocean week with the objective of bringing together data providing networks and their users to better understand both the needs of the users and to communicate the needs of the networks. The goal was to identify working groups that would develop short-term projects and activities to address articulated issues and needs. Emily Smith, Program Manager of the US Argo Program, presented about the Argo Program to support hurricane predictions. GOMO Knauss Fellow, Mariana Rocha de Souza led the UN Decade of Ocean Science Forum that brought together several UN Ocean Decade Actions and Networks. The Forum was the first of its kind, bringing together data network providers with UN Ocean Decade Activities.
