OceanHackWeek is a collaborative learning experience, which aims to strengthen data and software proficiency in ocean scientists and facilitate inclusive community building. To achieve these objectives, OceanHackWeek (OHW) hosts 5-day collaborative workshops. These workshops are a combination of tutorials and collaborative project work, focusing on providing participants with computational and data science skills that can advance marine science research. OHW focuses on teaching tools and skills, including how to access, integrate and manipulate diverse datasets, how to visualize complex data, how to collaborate on computational projects via GitHub, and how to enable open science. This initiative encourages participants to continue the collaborations beyond the end of the workshop, as well as bring the skills gained and the sense of community back to their own labs and institutions.

OceanHackWeek fills this gap: we support participants to grow the computational skills they need to advance their research.
