Alaska Arctic Observatory and Knowledge Hub (AAOKH)

The Alaska Arctic Observatory and Knowledge Hub (AAOKH) aims to elevate Indigenous Knowledge and perspectives from underserved Alaska Native communities through a set of well-established and proven approaches. This proposal focuses on expanding the communication strategies, as well as education and training opportunities, for a successful community-led observing network that centers the perspectives, priorities, and self-determination of Arctic Alaska predominantly Indigenous communities.

Milestones

  • Design and produce a visually-appealing and publicly-accessible newsletter, to be published on newsprint during winter 2024-2025. Inclusion of project summaries and dedicated updates in the AAOKH newsletter. These newsletter will be distributed electronically and in newsprint to every post-office boxholder in AAOKH communities increasing equity and environmental awareness.
